It was a morning like any other. Rise from the bed, avoid the cats, remember to dress before wandering in front of a window without any drape in the new apartment, shamble like a zombie toward the kitchen, grab a cup from the clean dishwasher and wait for the kettle to brew the sweet, sweet nectar of life that is the first tea of the day. Grab the milk, pour it, add a spoonful of sugar and shamble back toward the computer to start the day.
Drinking was the next step. And it was what I was applying myself to do so when an unusual aroma came to tickle my tongue. Was it… carrot? In the tea? A thousand thoughts crossed my mind at this point. Was the tea bag expired? Was there a problem with it before? Was I going completely out of my mind? Was I having a stroke?
Then I looked at my cup only to realize that there was something strange in the cup. An orange deposit along the inside of my cup. Turns out, it was the day I accidentally invented English breakfast carrot tea and that you should always check the cup from the dishwasher before filling it in the morning.
